Jay completed his studies for the priesthood at Seton Hall University where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Religious Studies, and Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland, where he earned a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Arts in theology, specializing in Church History. He was ordained in 1998.

He has served in his diocese's vocations office, as a member of the presbyteral council, and the diocesan historical commission. He is currently the Parochial Vicar of St. Mary's Church in Alpha, N.J. He has hosted Proclaim the Good News since 2003.
Proclaim the Good News
Proclaim the Good News is a weekly series produced by the Diocese of Metuchen, New Jersey. Responding to the call of the Second Vatican Council's Decree on Social Communications, the diocese seeks to use radio to provide listeners with "Catholic transmissions which invite listeners ... to share in the life of the Church and which convey religious truths."(par. 14)

While the show, at times, highlights events particular to the Metuchen Diocese, the topics and issues discussed are universal, and relate to the lives of listeners, regardless of their location.
